Uplifting LGBTQIA+ Narratives Through Docusocial Content

“The people I’ve acquired in ballroom feel like the people I was born into this world with.”

A documentary-style social campaign filmed at The Center in New York brought the vibrant energy and rich history of New York's ballroom scene to the forefront just in time for Pride. The campaign was shared across talent and owned channels on TikTok and Instagram, as well as on digital screens throughout the city. This initiative tapped into the cultural renaissance of ballroom culture, a New York City-born dance movement that has become a global phenomenon thanks to platforms like TikTok.

Additionally, the campaign garnered questions from the community on TikTok, to which the cast Simone Tisci, SmokiiJai Jacobs, and Venus Balenciaga provided thoughtful responses, fostering a one-to-one dialogue that extended beyond the dance movement to learn about the individuals and their personal stories.
